2018 wedding styling trends in the South West of France – by Top Wedding Planner in South West Franc

The 2018 wedding season will start in a few months and most of the styling is nearly finalized for the couples I’ve been planning weddings for. This year will bring a wide variety of styles and colors, all as beautiful as each other! I can’t wait to share pictures as the season unfolds. They all reflect each couple’s style and stories, and that’s what makes it even better!

To give you a bit of context, my weddings this year will take place from Bordeaux to Provence via Midi-Pyrenees and Languedoc-Roussillon. I’m going to travel to exquisite chateaux, vineyards and domains. I am a very lucky girl indeed! Weather permitting; most ceremonies and cocktails will be outdoors, under trees, facing beautiful properties or views. After all, this is one of the main reasons why couples choose to get married in the South of France! Dinner and parties will take advantage of the properties’ beautiful dining rooms, being caves or wooden halls. Outdoors dinners are also highly sought after!

Here are the different styles that you will see this season in my weddings – please note that they do not reflect the predicted trends but my real couples:

White flowers and foliage

This trend is staying this year a few brides will walk the aisle with gorgeous bouquets of white flowers and green foliage.

Mis-matched vases with cut glass and stone will highlight the beautiful arrangements on tables.

Protea

Protea is making an appearance this year and will be seen in a couple of my weddings. Very popular in Australia and Brazil, the brides are bringing a bit of home inspiration to the French wedding.

Touches of coral flowers

A few brides have chosen soft coral flowers for their bouquets. It’s so romantic and will add a bit of colours to the day.

Intricate, wild and colourful

Bright and pepsy, this wedding styling for a sweet Irish couple will bring the venue to life! An outdoor ceremony under a century old tree with a backdrop of floor length colored ribbons; arrangements of wild flowers in wooden crates, a ceiling of colored lanterns, this day will be fun!

My Brazilian couple has also chosen some colorful decorations and arrangements will be bolder.

Olive branches

The bride’s grandmother is called Olive and she unfortunately won’t be able to attend the wedding. To make sure she is present nonetheless, the couple has based their decorations on olive branches. It helps that this wedding will be in Provence! Tall and voluptuous arrangements of olive branches will decorate the chateau, from the arch and its aisle, to the buffets and tables.

Antique style

Bordeaux and nude flowers, brass and candles! One of my weddings this year will have this color and will certainly show some heavenly decors…

Elegant pale rose

Autumnal weddings will have pale rose flowers this year in minimalists arrangements.

Candles and fairy lights

Who says wedding says intimate ambiance and a wedding wouldn’t be a wedding without candles and fairy lights everywhere! This year, we’ll be having a lot of delicate fairy lights

Draped ceremony arches

Wedding ceremonies will be celebrated in front of gorgeous draped arches this year! We'll see a lot of square arches with falling draping and lush flower arrangements on the corners.

Elegant rustic

A few weddings are also using an elegant rustic twist to their decorations to tie in with the location of their wedding. A lot of venues are in the middle of the countryside and couples want to integrate their decorations with the surroundings. Wooden crates, wine barrels with foliage and flowers will decorate buffets.
