Destination wedding in French Vineyard in Bordeaux, by top wedding planner and photographer

Today we are going to Bordeaux for a destination wedding at the famous Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte. We were delighted to plan, style and photograph this bright wedding!

Gemma and Andy got engaged in Bordeaux, a place they cherish and wanted to celebrate their love with their friends and family in this wonderful city in South West France. After visiting several venues, they chose Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, the world famous vineyard.

After a year and a half planning, the wedding took place on a hot and bright summer day, early August 2019. “The wedding planning process was calm and efficient from the first response email, pre wedding meetings and the day itself”, Says the couple. “Eighteen months is a perfect timeframe to plan a wedding, it will give you the time to organise stress free, get the best suppliers and enjoy the process” says Clémentine at Awardweddings.

Gemma wore a gorgeous dress from House of Ollichon in London, with a beautifully embroidered top and an elegant skirt. Her glittery shoes were from Louboutin.

Her bridemaids wore black dresses they found in different places.

Andy wore a summery suit from Moss Bross.

Gemma wanted a bright day with colors and gitter! The styling was colourful with gorgeous summer flowers of pink, yellow, blue tones. For dinner, they used wine boxes from the vineyard as flower arrangements on the tables. These were topped up with candles and fairylights.

They had a ceremony on the grounds of the vineyard, overlooking the beautiful hotel Sources de Caudalie, followed by cocktails and canapes on the grounds, on the sound of live music. They then enjoyed a delicious French meal in the impressive dining room of the chateau; followed by a party with a great French live band.

The couple took a couple shoot in the vineyard at sunset to enjoy the magical golden light...
